unanswered questions

up into the sky, fly the dreams of tomorrow.
as the wind curls and screams.
there is no face on the window.
the reflection is gone and nothing can be seen.
"who is this? who am i? what the heck am i doing?"
questions arise and never make it verbally away.
"why so much drama? why so much pain?"
sometimes questions never get answered.
sometimes questions always remain.
let the tide flow in and out.
i will stay put.
i will stand firm.
maybe.
what is the curse of indecision?
which dream would be first to go?
how many times do i have to run around the track?
am i done yet?
are we there yet?
no.
time stands still, the clock has started to melt.
each number sliding grievously down the wall.
it makes a mess on the floor.
an old man comes by with a broom.
it has suddenly disappeared.
the old man gets up and walks away.
without even a blink of an eye.
it has cleaned itself.

vanishing without a trace.
goodbye, old man.
my need for you is gone.

a little girl

A little girl looks up.
Up into the eyes of her father.
"Love me," she says, "please."
A small glance at her feet and away the tears fly,
for he has rejected her.
He has refused to show his love for her.

A little girl looks up.
Up into the eyes of her father.
"Protect me," she says, "please."
A wince meets her face for
he has beaten her and swept her aside.

A little girl looks up.
Up into the eyes of her father.
"Accept me," she says, "please."
Doubt and fear crowd her mind
for he has told her she was nothing.
He told her to leave.
He couldn't bear to look at her.

A little girl looks up.
Up into the eyes of her father.

"Forgive me," she says, "please."
A heavy weight is on her soul
for he has refused his pardon.
He doesn't want to let go.

A little girl looks up.
Up into the eyes of her father.

"Listen to me," she says, "please."
Silence fills the room as she steps away
for he has turned his back on her.
He can only hear himself.

A little girl looks up.
Up into the eyes of her father.

"I love you," she says, "it's true."
Sadness and rejection fills her eyes,
for he has decided she is a liar.
"You don't know what love is."

A little girl looks up.
Up into the eyes of her father.

"I forgive you,"she says.
Hope is in her heart,
for he doesn't understand.
He thought his words would lead her away.

"I'll always love you," she says.
Love is in her soul,
and he is left in wonderment,
"I never would have forgiven someone,
if they had said what I said to you," he says.

A woman looks up.
Up into the eyes of her father.

"Let me go." She says, "It's time."
"I can't." He says, "You're still my little girl."

What is this?

What is this feeling inside?
It makes my stomach churn and my insides so uncomfortable.
So many times it has plagued my body and so many times it has overtaken my soul.
Making legs weak and the body unwanting to move.
What will hold you in place?
Who will keep your head below the looming clouds above?
Time seems so short as you wonder and wander through the aimless skies.
Through the caverns and gloomy forests of uncertainty.
Look through these glasses.
The ones with rose-colored lenses.
They will blind you to reality, showing you something that the world desires.
A perfect couple. A time that will hold all your heart together.
What has sin gone and done though?
Ruining and depreciating the value of your soul.
Of the gift that God has bestowed upon you.
Go now! Fight and keep it safe!
Hold it fast and empty yourself of it's fiendish trickery!
Do not allow it to take hold and blind you!
Remember that God has made you and gives you each breath.
Keep Him on your mind, let Him help you fight.
Give Him all that you have! He loves you.
Let Him be your first love, your only love.
Do not let it be tarnished.
This perfect gift of love.
Remember, Love, remember.
